Beach Trip

Our family just returned from our annual beach trip to Ocean Isle Beach in NC. We once again had a really fun time. The house we stayed in was beautiful and the weather all week was great. Raegan really enjoyed getting to spend a week with her cousins and she took a particular interest in her big cousin Jack. This didn't really surprise me because Raegan has shown interest in older boys more so than in girls. Kind of scary that she is already a flirt! She loved playing with all of her cousins but whenever Jack was around Raegan would get so excited and start following him. He was really good with her. Uncle Scott gave Raegan the nickname " Monkey Do" since she was doing everything Jack was doing. The kids all enjoyed walks in the wagon, trips to the beach and especially playing in the pool. It was a fun and relaxing time for all of us ( although after a long and rough trip home I feel like I need another vacation!). We had a great vacation once again this year but in talking with everyone at the end of the trip Josh and I said we hope that we won't be able to make it next year. We are trying for our third embyro transfer in november so if it is successful ( and we pray that it is) than I would be due in august. So we'll just have to see what happens. We enjoyed this year and have lots of great memories and pictures! I have posted some pictures above and I will post a link to an album once I have it completed.

Another Fair

Raegan got to go to another fair this week! I had to go up to Baltimore to take care of things so when we were up there we went to the fair near my parent's house. Raegan got to see more animals although this time a donkey kind of spooked her ( well me too actually) so she wasn't as into petting the animals after that! But she enjoyed looking at animals, watching the rides and even taking her first ride on a carousel. I wasn't sure what she thought when we were riding the carousel but afterwards she kept asking to go back on so I take it that she liked it. She also enjoyed sitting on a big tractor and getting spoiled by Pop Pop who gave her some milkshake in her own cup. Raegan also enjoyed seeing all of her Pop Pop's toy trains again. Her newest thing is saying " Pop Pop's trains". Today we saw a train at Wegmans and she got really excited and pointed and said " Pop Pops' trains!". I said "well no Raegan that's not Pop Pops train but I am sure he would love to have a train running all through his house like that if Grandma would let him!". So we had a fun time at another fair and now we are excited to head to the beach!

Txt Msg 4 U

We have a little "texter" on our hands. I guess being a parent to a toddler in this day and age means they are already tuned into technology even at 18 months! The other day Raegan and I were on the way to meet Josh at the gym so he could take her home and I could work out. I was carrying my phone in my hand and Raegan wanted to play with it so I let her play with it on the way. It was locked when I gave it to her so I figured there was no harm. She was pressing the buttons and pretending to talk. When we got to the gym we saw Josh. Raegan greeted her daddy and Josh asked me if I sent him a text message with her picture. I said no I hadn't and he said well then she sent me one. It turns out somehow Raegan figured out how to take a picture of herself ( see above) with my phone and then sent it as a text message to Josh. Now, I know this was all a coincidence but I still think it's pretty funny that she managed to do all of that. I don't think I have even figured out how to send a picture text message! Raegan definitely knows how to keep us amazed and laughing!

18 Months and A Trip to the 4H Fair

We had a busy weekend once again! On saturday we took Raegan to the 4H fair. We thought she would enjoy it because she seems to really like animals and she certainly did. You can tell by the pictures that she has no fear when it comes to touching animals. She knows how to say "down" now and when we were holding her above the animal pens so she could see the animals she kept saying " down" and trying to squirm so she could be let loose. If we let her she would have just jumped right in the pens with the animals. She even wanted to be let free to go into a pen with a HUGE pig. We of course said no but she did get to pet some sheep, goats and she even helped her daddy milk a cow! We all had a great time and we got to see enough animals before it got too hot! Yesterday Raegan turned 18 months! It's hard to believe she is already a year and a half! Time certainly does fly when you are having fun. Raegan is such a character and her personality comes out more and more each day. She always has laughing. And she is picking up new things left and right. She is saying a lot of new words. And her latest thing is shaking her head no. We don't know where she learned this but she picked it up somewhere. Yesterday was also Raegan's great grandmother's (Josh's grandmother) 83rd birthday so we drove to West Virginia after church to surprise her for lunch with Josh's parents, aunt, uncle and 2 cousins. We had a nice lunch and Raegan was the only child there this time so she had fun being a ham for everyone and being the center of attention!

Today I took Raegan to her 18 month check up at the doctors. She did really well. The doctor was really impressed at how calm she was while she was getting checked out. She only had to have one shot today and she only cried briefly and then she was fine. She is still growing longer than she is round. Her height is 33.6 inches ( 95%) and her weight is 25.11 lbs ( 75%). The doctor said her growth looks great. It will be interesting to see if her height slows down too or if she is going to remain tall. I was thinking the other day about how I didn't expect her to be tall or to have curly hair but she definitely has both of those traits as of right now. So all in all she did good and she remains a healthy, beautiful little girl!

We love you so much our precious Raegan Isabella! Happy 18 month birthday!
