I keep saying I am going to keep up with this blog and yet again here I am with a "Catching Up" post. Life is just busy and I love my two precious girls to pieces but they keep me busy and by the end of the day I'm tired so blogging inevitably gets put off. But hopefully when they grow up and look back they will remember the fun times we had and the time I spent with them and not focus on the lack of blogging or scrapbooking I did of their lives! But anyway here we are catching up again.
Raegan: Raegan continues to LOVE school. In fact pretty much every time she sees a school bus she asks me when she can go to kindergarten. I keep telling her to slow down, she may be ready but mommy is definitely not ready for that! I am really glad that she likes school so much though. I have had a couple of opportunites to see her in her school setting and she is doing really well. She is making lots of friends and behaving well for her teachers. What more could a mom ask for?! She is also really enjoying our new church and playgroup with church that we go to twice a month. More recently Raegan has started ballet and she really likes it. I was kind of surprised she wanted to do ballet but after her lack of enthusiasm at the end of soccer she started talking about it. We decided to let her try it at the YMCA and she really likes it. She is actually very graceful when I watch her so we'll see if she continues to like it.
Karis: Karis has been talking a lot lately. Her first documented real clear word was about a month ago and it was " Pop Pop". One day as I was taking them to my parents house Raegan was talking about Grandma and Pop Pop and all of the sudden we hear a little Karis voice say as clear as a bell " Pop Pop". It is fitting I suppose since she was born on her Pop Pop's birthday and she definitely loves her Pop Pop. She has also started saying "dog, dog" , "beh be ( baby)", Dah ( daddy), Op (food, we think) and any day now I am sure she will be saying " mommy" or at least "mah". She is very fast and no longer likes to be confined to a stroller or a shopping cart so now every trip to the store is done by having a bag full of snacks to give to her to keep her sitting still. I don't remember Raegan ever fighting so hard to not sit in the cart but Karis definitely doesn't like it. She thinks she should be walking ( i.e running) around the store when we go. But she is still as cute as can be!
We are all doing well and looking forward to the holidays. We have been busy fixing up our house ( I will do another post about some house projects that we have done). And we have also started becoming more involved with our church here. This week I started a consulting job. I found the job listing and it was a good fit. It's close by and only 10 hours a week. My mom is going to be watching the girls for me while I work so that definitely makes leaving them easier. So all in all things are going good!

First Hair Cut
Today was the first "real" haircut for one of my babies. Raegan's hair is super curly so it is hard to manage at times yet I have been able to trim it up a few times pretty well ( it's kind of hard to mess up cutting curly hair because if I take a little off at a time there is no way to tell if it is uneven). Karis' hair on the other hand has become unruly and I truly did not even know where to start with trying to trim it up myself. People ask me sometimes if I layer her hair ( they also ask me if I curl Raegan's hair- do I look like I have that kind of time on my hands?). But Karis has had a full head of hair since she was born so it has just grown to be uneven and it grows forwards so it always ends up in her eyes and she will not keep any sort of bow in or hat on. So today I took her with me to my hair appointment and my wonderful hair cutter Michelle trimmed Karis' hair for me. I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with bangs or not but in the end decided to give bangs a try ( I am hoping that it will help keep "stuff" out of her hair now). I held her during the haircut and we had to give her a lollipop to keep her still but she was really good and it was a success. Not that she wasn't adorable before but I think she is even cuter now and I love that now I can really see her beautiful baby blues! We have family pictures on saturday so it was good timing. Big sister enjoyed watching Karis ( and Mommy) get haircuts but she said that she wants Mommy to keep cutting her hair ( so we'll see how long I can keep that up!).
