Raegan had her first experience with "real food" this morning! And I am happy to say she is a natural at eating ( which works out well for me since I LOVE to cook!). We gave her rice cereal this morning and she started eating it right away and knew exactly what to do with the spoon. No funny spaces, no spitting of food, just a little cry when I stopped... I guess she wanted more. I am looking forward to making her baby food and we'll probably start with some vegetables next week. And we are starting to get some vegetables in our garden so hopefully Raegan will be able to enjoy some home grown foods too before the end of the summer! I can't believe how fast she is growing but it is really neat to see her grow, change and explore as she gets older. Her personality is really starting to come out and boy is she a cutie! She is always doing things that make Josh and I laugh and we have already realized that she is a little ham, already knowing how to put on a show! We continue to be amazed at the fact that God chose to bless us with such a beautiful and wonderful ( and easy) baby! Below are a picture of Raegan feeding herself a bottle and our first strawberry in our garden!

Big Cousin!

Raegan is now a big cousin and is no longer the baby of the family on the Auer side. It didn't take long for someone to fill her shoes but she doesn't seem to mind, she knows there is plenty of love to go around! My brother Scott and his wife Mary Kay ( and children Jack and Libby) welcomed Collin Joseph to their family on wednesday June 18th! He weighed in at 8 lbs, 1 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. Welcome to the family Collin! We can't wait to meet you!

Catching Up...
I haven't been very good at keeping up on blog posting over the last couple of weeks ( partly due to the fact that I badly burned my hand and it hindered my typing ability for a little while). But I'll try to catch you up on Raegan's latest and greatest! Raegan turned 4 months old last monday and she had a doctor's appointment the same day. She weighed in at 16 lbs 13 oz and 26 inches long ( 97th percentile for both!). She has continued to enjoy rolling over and her latest discovery is our dog Kona. Of course Kona has always been here but over the last week Raegan has really started recogizing and enjoying Kona. She likes to touch her fur and she laughs a lot when Kona gives her "kisses" on her feet or on her hands. It is very cute to watch! Raegan woke up to someone else watching her on wednesday night when our friend Desi came over to watch her when Josh took me to the ER for my hand. Raegan has been showing some signs of separation anxiety but thankfully when she woke up on wednesday night for Desi she didn't even cry! And then on thursday my friend and old college roomie, Meredith came up from Blacksburg for a visit on her way up to a wedding in Delaware. It was a lot of fun seeing Mere and introducing Raegan to her! On sunday Raegan went swimming for the first time. We bought a kiddie pool since it was sooo hot outside and we all got in, even kona! Raegan wasn't too impressed but that may be b/c she was tired ( and she was probably wondering why her bath water was so cold) but we'll try again another time.
I think that's all for now! Below are some pictures of Raegan's big week!
A picture with Meredith!
Hugs for mommy!
