Trying to stand, trying to drive, trying on clothes...just being cute

Raegan has been trying lots of new things lately. She still isn't quite crawling but she is getting close. She has figured out how to move herself around in circles, not quite conventional crawling but it works for now. She also loves to stand up and Josh got some good pictures of her standing up with the help of our ottoman. Our neighbors also lent us a walker for Raegan to try that is shaped like a car. She hasn't quite figured out how to move herself yet but she does love playing with the horn! And of late Raegan also enjoys trying on clothes by herself. We put her on our bed sometimes when we are getting ready to go out somewhere so we can watch her closely and last sunday I looked over and Raegan was trying on the skirt i had out but decided not to wear. Yesterday she covered herself with baby clothes that I was sorting out on our bed. And when I went over to her to acknowledge what she had done she laughed hysterically. I think she is beginning to figure out that we think everything she does is cute ( and she's right!). The biggest change for her has been her new sleeping arrangements! She was using a swaddler blanket up until a few nights ago. We had tried many times to not swaddle her at night and everytime we did she would wake up several times. We had to get a bigger swaddler and it was a little too big so she was able to get her arms and legs out by the end of the night but she still needed to use the swaddle. But the other night we decided not to use one and to just put a blanket over her legs and to our pleasant surprise it worked! She doesn't kick off the blanket and she gets very excited when we put the blanket on her! It is nice that she finally done using the swaddler but it is sad in the same sense, just another way in which our little baby is growing up! Anyway, below our some recent pictures.

First Photo Shoot

Raegan had her first professional pictures taken today when we were up visiting with Grandma and Pop Pop. We have given Raegan plenty of practice with smiling for the camera for the past 6 months so we thought it was time to have some portraits done. And Raegan did great. She was all smiles and we got some great shots of her! The photographers were commenting on how good she did and how happy she was during the picture taking. She is a very, very happy baby! They were running a photo contest which she automatically gets entered in so we'll see if she wins us a trip to Disney World. It would be nice to win the trip but as far as I am concerned we have already "won" just by being blessed with Raegan! I have posted the pictures for you to see!

Busy Day and Sparkly Band Aids

Yesterday was a very busy day for Raegan and I. We had to run errands, get the car inspected and most importantly go for Raegan's 6 month check up! So here are the newest stats for our ever growing girl!

Height: 27 1/2 inches which is 97th percentile

Weight: 20 lbs 6 oz which is 100th percentile! ( her first perfect score:)

She is very big for her age but she has been growing on the same curve so the doctor's say she is doing great. I am sure she will slow down at some point ( i hope!). And I am sure that everything will change soon now that she is really beginning to move, roll and jump! The doctor said that everything else was great and she is healthy! She had to have 4 more shots which was not fun but they gave her sparkly band aids after it was over so that made up for it ( until later when the shots kicked in and she started not feeling good!). So overall she is doing great!

Today we are leaving for another couple of busy but fun days! Raegan and I are going to visit Grandma, celebrate Pop Pop's birthday and visit with friends!

A Nice Summer Evening

We couldn't believe how nice the weather was today! We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and eat our friday pizza night pizza outside and we brought Raegan's exersaucer outside for her to play in while we ate and enjoyed the evening. After dinner I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take some nice outdoor pictures of Raegan so I thought I would share a few of my favorites. Oh and just for fun I through in a picture of our other "daughter" Kona sitting on her new doggie sofa bed we got for her at Costco this afternoon! I hope everyone else enjoyed the weather here as much as we did!

Half a Year!

Raegan turned 6 months this past saturday! It's hard to believe she is already 6 months old! Since it was her half year birthday I decided to make a cookie cake ( i know she can't eat it but I can't resist an opportunity to bake when it's a special occasion). Josh and I ate cookies in her honor but not in front of her because she tries to reach for our food now and it would have been sad if she was reaching for her own cake and we told her no! We did get her a new toy for her half birthday though, a shape block set, that she seems to enjoy ( i was on a mission to buy her a toy not made in China and it was one of the only ones i could find but she seems to like it nonetheless). I also started giving her frozen apple wedges in a mesh baby feeder which she really likes and it probably feels really good on her sore little gums! She is doing really good at sitting up on her own and playing with toys. She still doesn't like to be on her tummy but loves when you stand her up, so I am still convinced that she might just decide to walk instead of crawl but we'll see. She is also really into jumping in her jumparoo. Before she would just kind of play with the toys and now she jumps all around and laughs!

We don't know her current stats since she doesn't go to the doctor's until next week but she is definitely still growing fast! And her hair is really starting to grow in and it looks like it may end up being curly which makes me happy! So overall she is still doing really good. It continues to amaze us at how fast she is changing! She brings so much joy to our lives and we thank God for her everyday!

Happy 1/2 year Raegan, our precious girl ( now slow down a little bit, you are growing up too fast!)
