Sick Baby
Apparently Raegan not only brought home a nice penguin craft that she made at school but she also brought home a cold that we have managed to pass around to everyone in our house. Raegan was pretty miserable for a couple of days and then as she started to feel better Josh, Karis and I all started coming down with it. Poor Karis looks so miserable. Raegan didn't get sick at all her first year of life but she also didn't have a big sister who brought home germs along with their art projects from school. I feel so helpless when my babies are sick. And the poor Karis kept coughing so much that she couldn't sleep. By monday night she was so worn out she was fussing and I laid her down on the couch to take her temperature and she fell sound asleep. You know she doesn't feel good if she falls asleep like that. I actually ended up taking her to the doctor monday night because she looked so miserable and we were barely able to wake her up. The doctor said she just had a cold and didn't have an ear infection or anything. She was doing a little better today so hopefully she is on the upswing and her cold doesn't take a turn for the worse. And now I am counting down the days until warmer weather and less germs!

Our Family Updates
Karis: She turned 5 months old today! Time is sure flying! Her personality is coming out more and more and she is such a sweet girl. She loves to laugh and her little laugh is so cute. It's a deep laugh, not a deep belly laugh like Raegan has but it is just as adorable. She has a beautiful smile and she is always smiling at people when I have her out with me. A lot of people tell us she looks like us which is kind of funny. It looks like her eyes are going to stay blue and her hair is still kind of a strawberry blonde. I mentioned this before but she LOVES her big sister. Whenever she sees Raegan she smiles and laughs. She loves to watch what Raegan is doing. I can tell she just can't wait until she can jump in and start playing with her. When they are near each other Karis always tries to grab Raegan or touch her ( sometimes she grabs her hair which does not go over well with big sis). I love seeing them grow up together! I am so thankful that they will have each other as sisters. Karis is also enjoying solid foods. I started her on cereal a couple of weeks ago and today I made lots of organic butternut squash for her to try in the next couple of days. She is still waking up a couple of times at night but for the most part she is going to sleep easier so hopefully she will start sleeping through the night soon! We sure love our baby girl!
Raegan: Raegan is going to be 3 soon! I can't get over that! She is growing up way too fast too just like her sister is. Raegan has been in school for a little over a month and she absolutely loves it! Her teachers say she is doing really well and I always get good reports on her behavior at school so that makes mommy and daddy very pleased! She has been enjoying all of her Christmas gifts and she has also started painting. I got her a little watercolor set for Christmas and every day she wants to paint. Maybe she will be an artist like her Grandma Barbie. She also seems to like her baby sister more and more. She loves to help me give Karis baths and she seems to like it ( most of the time) when Karis laughs at her. She will dance around to get Karis to laugh and it's really cute. We are in the process of planning her little birthday party for when she turns 3!
Jen ( me): I have been busy taking care of my two precious girls and my wonderful hubby. I have also been busy in my role as the Crafts Coorinator for my MOPS group and I have also been using my "spare"time to get back into studying nutrition. I am in the beginning stages of finally planning a nutrition consulting buisness so hopefully I will get that started sometime in the not so distant future. I am enjoying staying at home with my girls and I am so thankful that Josh's job allows me to do that and to not have to work right now.
Josh: Josh started a course back in September for his work. It is definitely more time consuming than I thought it would be but hopefully it will help in his current position and also help him with his career in the future. He was able to take off 10 days over Christmas which was so nice! I don't think he has ever been able to take that much time off at once so it was hard to see him go back to work but we were thankful for the time he got off this year. He still enjoys playing his guitar when he has free time and he hopes to start playing again for church once his class is over and his schedule frees up a little bit.
So that's what has been going on around here. I am going to work on blogging more consistently but these 2 little girls have been keeping me busy! I'll work on it though!
