We have had a busy and fun weekend. Yesterday we went to Josh's parents house to see them and his sister. We celebrated his sisters birthday and had an early Easter dinner with them. Today we got up early for church and had a wonderful church service at our church and then headed up to Baltimore to see my parents and brothers and their families. We spent some time at my parents house before heading over to my brothers house for dinner and swimming, yes, swimming on Easter! It was 85 degrees today so Raegan along with all of her cousins wanted to get in my brothers pool. I was going to take Karis in but I thought the water was a little cool for her. But Raegan had a blast playing with her cousins both in the pool and in the house with all of her cousins cool toys! We enjoyed a delcious dinner with family and then had a little birthday party for my nephew Tyler who turned 5 last week. It was a wonderful weekend filled with time with family!

I am so thankful for what Easter means for us. I am so thankful for God's love for us. He has blessed me so abundantly.

Happy Easter from our family to you and yours!

8 Months ( and ready to crawl!)

Figuring out how to get to what she wants!
Showing off her teeth!

Happy, beautiful girl!

Karis turned 8 months this week. I know I say this every time I post about her but seriously where is the time going!?! Karis is definitely on her way to crawling. She has figured out how to get to things she sees on the floor by scooting and rolling her way to get what she wants and she is getting on her knees like she is going to start crawling. She is kind of working on the army crawl at this point but it won't be long before she is officially on the go! She is still my good eater! Happy Baby puffs are her absolute favorite snack, hands down. And she will usually eat a 2 course meal at every meal before finishing with some puffs. Her thighs are beginning to show her love of food but I love them ( there is just something about chunky baby thighs!). She has also mastered the art of throwing temper tantrums. She is usually a very happy and laid back baby but if you take away something she wants, watch out! She is turning out to be a drama queen just like her sister ( I guess that is probably just a girl thing). So needless to say we have lots of drama at our house. But as always we are loving every moment with both of our girls!

Today after 6 years of living near D.C. Josh and I finally made it to see the Cherry Blossoms. It's a shame we haven't taken advantage of living near D.C. sooner but it was more fun to take our 2 mini tourists along with us anyway! Josh was able to take off work today and we checked the weather report, got some great parking tips from our friends and decided to head for the city today! We didn't tell Raegan until this morning and it brought me so much joy to see her excitement when I told her we were going to see the dinosaurs. This kid loves dinosaurs ( and Karis is a little young but judging from the way she laughs when her big sister roars like a dinosaur, she might like them too!) so she was really excited to go to the "dinosaur museum". We left early and even though we hit traffic getting there we were still able to snag some free parking at Hains Point. We walked to the museum first and saw the dinosaurs, the sea creatures and a few other little exhibits. Once the little ones started getting cranky we figured it was time to head outside to have our picnic lunch. I packed a lunch for us and we enjoyed a picnic on the National Mall. We saw Marine One go by while we were eating and even though we are not at all fans of our President it was still pretty neat to see his helicopter flying above us. After lunch we headed down to the tidal basin to see the cherry blossoms. We got a few pictures although it was quite windy, beautiful but windy so it made it hard to get too many good pictures. Then we walked to our car and headed home. It was a really fun family day today and Raegan is already asking when we can go back so I'm sure we'll be heading back to D.C. sometime soon.
