Funny Story

I have been meaning to share a funny story that happened last sunday but I haven't had a chance until now to blog it. Josh and I got back from our trip on friday night and we all came home from my parents house on saturday. On sunday morning Raegan woke up in a pretty bad mood. I am sure she was reacting to us being away and getting used to being home. But she was having some morning. She kept wanting me to pick her up and I was supposed to still be resting from my procedure so I told her I couldn't pick her up. She wouldn't eat her breakfast. She through a fit when Josh was changing her diaper and getting her dressed. It was pretty much a morning of tantrums. But by the time we got her in the car for church and she had had her milk she was ok. We dropped her off at Sprouts ( childcare) and she was fine. When we went to pick her up all of the other kids were begging for a snack, crying or getting into trouble. But Raegan was just playing as nicely as could be with some dress ups. Both ladies proceeded to tell us how good Raegan is, how she is the most well behaved child, what a joy she is to have in their class, how she plays so nicely with all of the other kids. It was certainly nice to hear and we know she is a really good child. We are so glad that she behaves when we leave her. It is just funny how different she is for us sometimes at home. I know I was the same way, always way worse for my parents. I don't think she has ever thrown a tantrum for anybody else but us. And she is a very sweet child at home most of the time but she definitely has her moments. No one believes when we say she throws tantrums but honestly she does! But we are so thankful for her, tantrums and all! It just means she is determined and persistent and that is a good thing. It's our job as parents to help her know how to direct those traits.
One of the childcare workers said " you couldn't have asked for a better child". We know, Raegan is more than we could ever have asked for or imagined.

Baby ( bay bee)

One of raegan's newest words and newest interests is baby (raegan pronouces it bay bee with an emphasis on the "bay"). She has been saying it for a long time but her pronunciation of a lot of words is getting much clearer. She loves to point to babies in her books, hold her baby dolls and point to babies when she sees babies while we are out. She might not realize it but it is our hope that in about 9 months that she has a baby brother or sister. We are down in Tennessee for our second try at a frozen embyro transfer through and embyro adoption program. We are really excited and really hopeful that the transfer will work this time. We really want Raegan to have siblings and we trust that God will give us the desire of our hearts. We also strongly believe that these embryos are already life and it is our desire that these little orphaned frozen embyros have a chance at life on earth. It will be interesting to see if Raegan is as excited about babies when she has one in her house but we know that she will be a great big sister! We have another blog that goes into more detail of our embyro adoption so if you are interested in following what is happening on this journey feel free to check out our other blog at www.adoptingembies.blogspot.com

Food 4 Free!

Today we had a fun friday afternoon as a family. Josh got off work a little early today so he met Raegan and I at the pool. Today Raegan discovered the waterslide! We let her go down a couple of times before but today we let her learn how to go down all by herself. One of us would watch her as she climbed the stairs and helped her get seated and get down the slide while the other one of us would catch her at the bottom. It took her a couple of tries to figure out how to get seated and push herself down the slide but after that she was unstoppable! She went down about 20 times in a row! We didn't have the camera today but we'll try to get some pictures next time we go. She also enjoyed playing in the sand with daddy for a long time.

After the pool we went out to dinner for free! For those of you who know me know that I love bargains and free stuff. Today i heard that they were giving away free combo meals at Chick Fil A if you dress like a cow. Josh wasn't too enthused about the idea at first but he was a good sport in the end. I made us all cow outfits using white shirts, hats and a cow pattern you could download from chick fil a. When we got there there were a lot of other "cows" so it ended up being a lot of fun. And the greatest part was we got our whole meal for free! I also heard that tomorrow they are giving free slurpees away at 7-11 so i will definitely be heading there!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July yesterday. We went up to Baltimore on friday night and enjoyed a nice seafood dinner with my parents. Raegan also enjoyed seeing Pop Pop's new train garden at their house and we were finally able to give Pop Pop his father's day present. We had a quiet morning on saturday and had high hopes of Raegan taking a good long nap so she would be ready to stay up late. A nap she took, but not a long one. But she still managed to do ok. I made her a dress to wear for the 4th of July and I must say that she looked pretty cute! So I put her dress on her when she got up and we walked up to the parade in Catonsville. There's nothing like spending the 4th of July in Catonsville. I mean these people take this day seriously! Raegan seemed to enjoy the parade. She wasn't scared of the sirens like i thought she might be. And her favorite things to see were any floats that had balloons on them or anytime a dog walked by. She could have done without the other 95% of the parade. She also really enjoyed playing with a stick that she found on the sidewalk where we were standing. After the parade we walked to a cookout. I got to see some really dear friends that I knew from high school whom I hadn't seen in way too long. It was really great to see them and to introduce everyone to Raegan. She enjoyed playing with their kids ( it's crazy that we all have kids now!) and I enjoyed catching up with friends. Then we walked back to my parents house to pick up Kona and get our car and then we headed to see Grandma and Pop Pop at another cookout before heading home. We were hoping to see some D.C fireworks on the way home but we didn't. There were fireworks going on when we got home. Raegan fussed a little on the way home from being so tired but eventually she just crashed. I guess Catonsville wore her out on the 4th of July!
